The main objective of the alliance is to build a strong foundation for the emerging medical manufacturing sector in WA. It consists of: multiple product designers and manufacturers; SMEs looking to manufacture medical products in WA utilising the experience and expertise of those manufacturers; and The University of Western Australia that is looking to facilitate the ecosystem, collaboratively foster innovation whether internally or externally initiated, and train the workforce of the future.

In 2023 and 2024, iPREP Biodesign was supported by funding from the Investment Attraction Fund via the Springboard Medical Manufacturing Alliance.
